Antananarivo – Antsirabe – Miandrivazo – Tsiribihina River – Kirindy forest – Baobab Avenue – Morondava

Day 01:

Antananarivo – Antsirabe (160 km / 3.5 hours)

Tongasoa! Welcome to Antananarivo Madagascar. We will start our tour from Antananarivo to Antsirabe by private car, a tour guide and driver. The ride takes about 3,5 hours including some photo stops. Along the way we will see beautiful landscapes: highlands and rice paddies and stone tombs of the Merina tribe.
After 60 km we wil stop to visit the villages of Ambatolampy to see ‘local recycling’: forning, making aluminium cooking pots and aluminum decorations. We continue to Antsirabe. When we arrive in Antsirabe, you have several nice options: relax at the hotel, take a rickshaw (pousse pousse) to the city center or explore the city and its surroundings on foot. Overnight at hotel: couleur café (Semi luxury); royal palace (luxury)

Day 02:

Antsirabe to Miandrivazo (230Km / 5 hours)

After breakfast, will pick you up from the hotel to visit the town of Antsirabe including the Horn Zebu factory recycling; metal recycling to make small cars and rickshaws for decoration. Then we continue to Miandrivazo. On the way we pass a waterfall in Betafo village, as we pass through the changing Malagasy countryside.
Miandrivazo is small town where we organize our trip over the Tsiribihina River, arrange a local boat, some staff do some formalities. Overnight at hotel: La pirogue

Day 03:

Miandrivazo – Masiakapy -Descent on Tsiribihina River- Nosinapela waterfall –Descent -Camping (Begidro)

After morning breakfast, we drive from Miandrivazo to Masiakapy by car. From here, we will start the river journey on the majestic Tsiribihina River. Relax and enjoy the beautiful landscapes, many kinds of wild animals like Herons, wild Ducks. Parrots. Raptors birds, Kingfishers, and many species of large chameleons. Before noon, we cross the massif of Bemaraha. It overflows with a fantastic landscape. At noon, we will have a shower under the best waterfall of Madagascar ‘Nosinapela’ and it is natural swimming pool. In afternoon, we cruise again along the river and look for a spot to pitch our tents. We make camp on the sand banks, build a fire in the night and cook your dinner. Then sit bank and enjoy your meal listening to the sound of river and watching the sun go down. Camping at night. (Full board is included).

Day 04:

Descent on Tsiribihina river – Camping (Berevo)

Start the morning after breakfast and visit to local village of Begidro to see life of the local people living in the rural countryside of Madagascar. We pass tobacco farm storages, a small market and hand build wooden houses. Then we continue to cruise the river that winds through thick forest full of wildlife, Baobab forest and lush vegetation along the riverbanks. With a bit of luck we have the opportunity to observe a crocodile or turtle, take a sun bath. In the late afternoon we will stop at a traditional Malagasy village and set camp on a the sandbanks, enjoy diner by the camp fire, under an impressive starry sky. Camping at night, full board is included.

Day 05:

End of our river descent – Antsiraraka village – Kirindy forest – Night walk in Kirindy (80Km / 5 hours)

After a good morning breakfast, we cruise onother few miles along the river and finish our river tour with the local boat and staff. From ‘Mango Tree Point’ we start our ride on the Zebu card, the distance is about 5 km to the parking place. Here we meet our driver with the 4WD car. Then we drive to the village. After 5 hours driving we arrive at the ‘dry forest’ as know Kirindy forest. Firts we check in to our hotel, then meet with our local guide, to visite the Kirindy forest for a night walk. Overnight at hotel: Kirindy Forest (Bungalow room).

Day 06:

Day walk to The Kirindy forest – Baobab Avenue – Morondava

After morning breakfast, we make a trip to the deciduous Dry Forest to see Lemurs, birds and insects. Then we visit the ‘Baobabs in Love’ and the famous Baobab Avenue for a stunning sunset. In the evening, we will arrive in Morondava and relax at the Bougainvilliers hotel. A beautiful Bungalow on a wide sandy beach and a restaurant offering you a nice view of the Mozambique Channel. Stay at Bougainvilliers Hotel, one bungalow

Day 07:

There are several options to continue your journey

Back to Tana by plane (1 hour) or 4WD by road (600 km)
